Fasten off. Cut approximately 25 cm (10 inch) lengths of white yarn. You will need a lot – I did this by cutting a piece of card to the correct length, wrapping the yarn around the card and then cutting through all rounds.

To attach one length, fold yarn in half and feed crochet hook (it is easier to use a larger hook) behind post of crocheted hair cap. Draw loop through, then pull cut ends through the loop.

Once you are happy with the number of lengths of yarn you have attached to the head, pin hair to head and sew in place.

With the same lengths of white yarn, repeat the process, attach yarn to lower part of face for beard.

  1. For the hair piece, there appears to be a mistake in the pattern. There are 2 rounds labeled as “7”, and the last step is rounds 7-12, but it says to 8 rounds for that step. Is it supposed to have 12 rounds total, or 15? Thanks

  2. Hi.
These patterns are great. I started making them for my daughter now I’m making them for everyone.
Do you have a pattern for Draco Malfoy.
Thanks very much for sharing these.
    Donna.

    1. Thanks Donna – I am so glad you’re enjoying them! Draco is on my list of patterns to make so while he’s not up yet hopefully he will be in the next few weeks

  3. This pattern is fantastic and so easy to follow. I am a bit stuck though with the hair cap and fitting. Do I just attach the hair to the bottom row and where is it best to place the hair cap.

    1. I randomly attached the hair all over until I was happy with how it looked. The best way to figure out where to place the hair is to move it around until you are happy with it, pin it in place and then attach it. This is usually sitting more towards the back of the head so his face is nicely visible. Hope that helps and thank you!

    2. Love your patterns but I am so lost on the robe! I don’t know why I can’t for the life of me figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

        1. So when I do row 26, I’m not crocheting around the arms again, correct? I’d finished to the decrease but couldn’t get to robe on him without it being folded to his back, if that makes sense. I know it’s me and I’m overlooking something. Thank you so much for your help!

          1. Row 26 is working through all the stitches from the previous row (including those around the arms). If it’s not sitting nicely after that (some yarns don’t sit well) then work a row of sc into each stitch before then working row 26. Hope that helps, if not let me know and I’ll try to explain better.

  4. Is something missing in this pattern for the hat? It just a round disk, should I be crocheting in BLO to make it more flat on top. Am I missing something?

  5. Adorei a receita. Muito bem explicado.
    Meus netos vão adorar.
    Muito obrigada.
