Free Numbers Dishcloth or Afghan Squares

Free Knitting Pattern Numbers 123 Washcloth Afghan Squares

Our latest creations are free knitting patterns for afghan or washcloth squares of numbers 1-9 and zero!  These squares would work great as a washcloth or dishcloth, or you could put them together to make ages, birthdays, wedding days or any other important dates. You could add them to other squares to make an afghan or blanket (all my squares are the same size). Finished square approximately 22 cm x 22 cm (8.5 inches x 8.5 inches)

Size and Materials

Size depends on yarn and needle size used ā€“ with DK/Light Worsted Weight yarn and 4 mm (US 6, UK 8) knitting needles, finished squares are approximately 22 cm x 22 cm (8.5 inches x 8.5 inches)

Any sized needle and yarn can be used (please refer to yarn label for recommended needle size), however different needle and yarn sizes will produce different sized squares, so if you plan to make an afghan or a set of these it is best to use the same needle size and yarn for each square.

  1. I have been collecting all these free patterns ready for next winter when I will be able to start them and make an afghan throw for our local community hospital, Just got to get a few more balls of wool in different colours, then there is no stopping me! Thank you for the patterns, they are really appreciated.

  2. I just purchased the pdf download. For such a modest amount, it was worth having it as ONE individual file folder. The instructions and illustrations and clear and easy to follow. I will use these patterns in my crochet, cross stitch, “mosaics’, and a heap of other projects. I appreciate that someone else has done the hard work of planning these patterns for me.

  3. Truly a wonderful range of patterns to use. So far I have made the helicopter and am going to make many more for a child’s blanket. I know folk will say that there are a few designs missing, and you seem to be up for giving people the designs they would like.
I have enjoyed knitting my first one and will be knitting many many more.
Thank you for posting your wonderful designs that we all can use.
