Our latest creation is a free knitting pattern for a paw print square – this would work great as a washcloth or dishcloth, or you could pair it with other squares to make an afghan or blanket square. I think it would look great with either the Labrador Dog Square or Cat Square. Finished square approximately 22 cm x 22 cm (8.5 inches x 8.5 inches)

Wow!Six dachshunds must be quite a busy house! I’ll add a dachshund washcloth to my list of patterns to make
Can this pattern (and your other patterns) be used with a small gauge loom?
Sorry, I’ve never used a loom – I’m hoping someone else will see your comment and let us both know 😊
Wow! I am a beginner and am in awe that you could be so clever and create this pattern, and all the others. What a talent! I am a crazy cat lady and once I have enough confidence I will try my best. I live in Australia and spend time talking to my cat while he tries to get my attention – crazy, I know!!
Thank you!
Love your pattern
Hello. Were you ever able to create a daschound pattern? I only have five and
they are definitely in charge. Thanks for all of the squares
I have the dachshund square on my knitting needles right now – should be done in the next day or so 😊
Thank You for all your free patterns. Can’t wait to try them. I am making blocks to send to “Warm Up America”.
That’s awesome!
this pattern totally different from the first one I made, like it better
How many balls of wool is required?
I use around 70 m (76 yards) of dk (light worsted weight) for each square – less than a ball
Hi there
Am trying to do 15cm x 15cm squares for a charity blanket drive tried smaller needles and wool not getting it right.
So as I know that for me approx 35 stitches dk and 4mm gives me 15 x15cm am going to just try and leave off the borders confirm this is first 7 and last 7 rows and first 5 and last 5 stitches ?
Hi Amelia, yes those are the border stitches 😊
Loved it! I am making an Afghan for my daughter, who loves cats but cannot have one because her boyfriend is severely allergic. But I will incorporate their initials in two squares.
And then I will make one with cats and dogs for me, and another with a castle and unicorn for my grand daughter. I am so excited about this!
Thank you so much!
Thanks, Lupita 🙂 those all sound like awesome ideas for Afghans!
Thank you so much for the dachshund pattern. I will be making on for my friend Who has a dachshund and she will 😍 love it.
Thanks 😊 So glad you like the pattern and so nice to make it for your friend
