You will need a small amounts of yarn and a crochet hook that gives good tension (I used a 3 mm hook and 8ply/DK yarn).
Round 1: make a magic ring and sc 5 into the ring
Round 2: sc inc in every stitch (10)
Round 3: sc inc in every stitch (20)
Round 4: (sl, chain 4, hdc in 2nd stitch from hook, dc in next stitch, tr in next stitch, skip 3 stitches on main part of the star) 5 times
Fasten off.
Great design but what happened to round 4? I tried to make this and it’s hard when I’m not sure what to do on round 4.
